PCM – Portion Control Meals on Dream Droppers
We call the meals on Dream Droppers, PCMs or portion control meals. Many people have heard of the hCG diet which advocates a VLCD or very low calorie diet. The thought of being on a very low calorie diet sounds painful to me. It causes me to envision starving children, and makes me think if I were consuming very few calories that I would be hungry, fatigued, or moody. That is absolutely not the case on Dream Droppers.
We don’t call our meal plan a very low calorie diet. We use a portion control meal plan (PCM). The basic formula is up to 4 oz. protein, vegetable, fruit, and salad, with a list of “free” foods that can be consumed with the meal, or some between meals. There’s never a reason to be hungry on Dream Droppers. Between the food that you eat, the drops, and the positive reinforcement you are receiving from losing about a pound a day, it’s amazing how much energy you have and how you don’t crave food.
This was our dinner last night: a lean hamburger patty topped with horseradish mustard, strawberries, kale chips, and a nice-sized salad of mixed greens, yellow peppers, shitake mushrooms, and cucumber – very filling!
Yesterday’s lunch was similar. This morning when we got up, my wife had lost 1.8 pounds and I had lost 0.8 pounds. Not bad!
I am so glad that as I talk to people about what is involved with this protocol, I am able to say that we aren’t counting calories, but rather consuming healthy portions. It’s much easier to get someone inspired to go on a portion controlled meal plan than a very low calorie diet.
