What Can I Expect During My First Visit to Dr. Little?
Coming to a new doctor can be a bit scary. You have nothing to worry about in our office.
Please come a few minutes before your appointment time, to fill out paperwork. We don't have reams of paperwork for you to fill out, but we do want to do a thorough job and learn as much about your case as we can.
After you fill out your paperwork, you will meet with Dr. Little. He will look at everything you filled out and share a little bit about Neurologically Based Chiropractic. After he answers any questions you have, he will begin his examination.
He will check your posture and balance. He will likely do a series of scans designed to give him a very clear picture of your current level of stress and how your body responds to and recovers from stress.
The STRESS RESPONSE EVALUATION
The heart of our care is centered upon restoring optimal function to the nervous system. Medical research has determined that nearly 90% of all of our health problems are related to stress.
We want to know not just how much stress our patients are under, but how well their body adapts to or recovers from stress. So, when a patient comes in for our care we perform an SRE, or Stress Response Evaluation.
First, the patient is hooked up to a variety of sensors to measure the nervous system. We measure brainwaves (EEG), respiration, skin temperature, sweat response, heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV.) Then a patient participates in a 12 minute evaluation that alternates between things that stress the nervous system, and periods of relaxation.
This is a state-of-the-art evaluation that gives us an abundance of information that is of clinical importance to help restore optimal function to the brain, nervous system, and body as a whole.
